After the winter break, we're gearing up for an exciting series of concerts over the summer. Between now and early June, we'll be playing at three separate events in Kingston, culminating in a Platinum Jubilee riverside gig on 5 June. In July we have performances in Walton-on-Thames and at the Ruskin Park bandstand in Camberwell, and on August bank holiday weekend you can catch us at the bandstand in Golders Green. Check out our Facebook page for more details.
Formed in 2008, London Saxophone Choir plays specially arranged music in a variety of styles: baroque, classical, modern and jazz. We give formal concerts, play on bandstands in summer and perform carols in winter. Our core instrumentation is soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxes. We have an inclusive membership policy (no auditions) and draw members from all walks of life.
Our musical director, Stuart Longley, is a professional musician with over 20 years' experience of leading community ensembles.
The LSC is not a school, but members and the musical director are always available to give help and support to new or less experienced members.
