After a long winter break, the London Saxophone Choir began its 2023 season with a really exciting concert in Pimlico on 13 May, teaming up with the London Accordion Players for a performance of music from the Mediterranean and beyond. That was followed a couple of months later by an outdoor gig at the Vine Bandstand in Sevenoaks. In August we'll be crossing London to play in Golders Hill Park on 20 August. Check out our Facebook page for more details.
Formed in 2008, London Saxophone Choir plays specially arranged music in a variety of styles: baroque, classical, modern and jazz. We give formal concerts, play on bandstands in summer and perform carols in winter. Our core instrumentation is soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxes. We have an inclusive membership policy (no auditions) and draw members from all walks of life.
Our musical director, Stuart Longley, is a professional musician with over 20 years' experience of leading community ensembles.
The LSC is not a school, but members and the musical director are always available to give help and support to new or less experienced members.
